Dear Military Wives and Moms,
It's been a joy to manage this website for over six years. The idea for it came just days after September 11, 2001 and it was then "launched" in October. Never in my wildest dreams had I ever considered doing this, but stretching us is what our God does sometimes. My daughter-in-law helped with the wives' side for awhile and then I met Susan who became a long time partner and an invaluable help.
We both have loved "meeting" so many of you through messages sent privately and to the Message Board. Many of you have become friends as we have shared happiness, heartaches, worry, and joy. Susan has accompanied women through being fiancé's, then wives, through husbands' deployments and babies along with her own husband's deployments. We moms have laughed, prayed and worried together about our military sons and daughters and rejoiced together at safe homecomings.
We have tried to keep the site current, posting hundreds of articles and answering either on site or personally every message you've sent. Now we feel it is time to move on. Although I believe ours was the first Christian site for us "heroes at home," please try to find another one that has similar goals of providing support, comfort, encouragement and inspiration. Above all, remember you are not alone!
Most of the over 100 letters to moms that I (Anne) have posted on our website are being compiled into a book appropriately titled, Dear Military Mom, Stay strong, Love, Anne. I hope it will be published in the months ahead. Please check back to this site for information on when and where it will be available.
May God bless and keep you strong!
Love, Anne and Susan
